Karel began his career in 1990 as a chartered accountant at PwC. From the mid-1990s onwards, he spent several years as head of supervision at the AFM, where he was responsible for supervising the conduct of all banks and investment firms. Karel has now been running his own compliance consultancy practice for many years and assists parties in the financial sector with setting up new activities.

At Noesis, Karel acts as compliance officer and focuses primarily on internal compliance, risk management, and relations with regulators.
In addition to monitoring compliance with formal legal obligations, he safeguards the integrity of the company and its employees.
